Sons and lovers is the greatest work written by D.H.Lawrence.In the novel,the mother,Mrs Morel devotes all her love on her sons,first on William,who dies after leaving home,then on her second son,Paul,and he also has the affection upon his mother.Thus it makes him incapable of dealing the relationship with other women.This Oedipus complex influences his life and emotion.How does this kind of emotion come into being? Why does Paul have this kind of abnormal love? Maybe there are a lot of reasons,and they will be discussed in detail in the following paragraphs.
