Introduction to the Special Issue ”Phenomenological Studies in Multidimensional Views”
Phenomenology is not just one of the most valuable treasures that twentieth-century Europe offered to humanity, it also opened spiritual introspection for human beings at a deeper level.Presumably, one might ask, whether or not phenomenology has immediate relevance or importance to us at present? What on earth produces the lasting influences of phenomenology? In an essential sense, phenomenology qua a philosophical method (and as a mode of philosophical investigation) will offer insight to human beings in terms of understanding traditional philosophical themes, responding to the problems of the times and emerging from theoretical dilemmas.The vitality of phenomenology lies in the fact that it can be combined with different cultural traditions and can conceptualize new spiritual states.The progression of phenomenology has experienced or is experiencing its German, French and Anglo-American phases.Right now it is also starting its Chinese phase.1
