Henry Rosemont Jr.and Roger Ames's book The Chinese Classic of Family Reverence:A Philosophical Translation of the Xiaojing is both "old" and "new,"as is the case with most of their translation books.It is "new," in that it gives a "contemporary American philosophers' perspective" (especially to the Chinese readers),and "old," in that it provides a "pragmatically intended application of classical Chinese thinking to the contemporary issues."
