Previous studies of the Creation Society have focused on the literary works produced by members of the Creation Society and found their intellectual careers disappointingly "polluted" by politics and their works lacking aesthetic value.Yin Zhiguang's study of the Creation Society,however,looks beyond the issue of aesthetics and focuses on the Creation Society's practice of "theoretical struggle" and its pioneering role in the history of Chinese Communist Party and Chinese revolutionary modernity.
