The Sixth International Conference on Computer Supp orted Cooperative Work in Design (CSCWD 2001) provides a forum for researchers a nd practitioners involved in different but related domains to confront research results and discuss key problems. The major topics of CSCWD 2001 include the fol lowing: Techniques, methods, and tools for CSCW in design; Social organization o f the CSC process; Integration of CSCW methods and tools within the work organiz ation; Cooperation in virtual enterprises and e-businesses; CSCW in Design and Manufacturing; Interaction between the CSC approach and knowledge reuse as found in knowledge management; Internet/Web and CSCW in design; Applications and test beds. Submission of Papers Papers reporting original research results and experience are solicited . Each paper, written in English, should be no more than 6 pages (IEEE Proceedin gs format), including references and Illustrations. Only electronic submissions in PDF or Postscript format are accepted. Submission of a paper should be regard ed as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the aut hors will attend the conference to present the paper. See conference web site fo r details.Submission of Workshop Proposals The Program Committee invites proposals for workshops to be held at CSCWD 2001. Workshops are intended to provide opportunities for in-depth meetings and infor mal discussions about particular aspects of CSCW in Design. The conference topic s provide an indication of the types of issues that might be addressed by worksh ops, though other related topics are welcome. Evaluation Process Papers will be reviewed by at least two program committee members and selected b ased on their originality, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit revised and expanded versions of their papers to be considered for publication in a special issue of the International Journal of Robotics and Automation.
