Strategies to Improve Student Reading
1.Introduction
In this article,I discuss tracked reading.Tracked reading is an easy-to-use strategy that improves students' listening,speaking,and reading ability.Tracked reading also increases student engagement during a lesson.This article is taken from the book Explicit Direct Instruction:The Power of the Well-crafted,Well-Taught Lesson,2nd Edition (Corwin Press,2017),written by John Hollingsworth and Dr.Silvia Ybarra.The strategies in the book are for all teachers,but many of the strategies are extremely useful for teaching language.
