Language transfer is the effect that one language-particularly the first language-has on another.Transfer can occur at all levels:pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar and discourse.It used to be known as interference,since,according to the behaviorist view,all transfer was seen as being negative.Thus,learners' errors were attributed to the effect of first language habits transferred into the second.
