@@ On June 22 - 27, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India' s Prime Minister, paid a fruitful visit to China. The Prime Ministers of the two sides signed a programmatic document for the development of relations "Declaration on Principles for Relations and Comprehensive Cooperation between the People's Republic of China and Republic of India." ① They also concluded nine related agreements. The events showed that Sino - Indian relations have entered a new phase of development. The two governments should continue to make every effort to elevate the good - neighborly and friendly relations of mutual benefit and cooperation to a new level, thus laying a more solid foundation for a long - term development of ties between China and India.
