The Indo-Pacific Economic Framework and Its Implications for China
On his visit to Japan in May 2022,US President Joe Biden announced the launch of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity(IPEF).This is the United States'first comprehensive and multilateral economic program targeting the Asia-Pacific region since it withdrew from the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement(TPP)in 2017.The 14 countries1 that constitute the IPEF's first members have an aggregate GDP that accounts for 40 percent of the world's total.
