John Milton was the greatest English writer after Shakespeare in the seventeenth century.He was the one great literary figure that tried to combine Renaissance and the Reformation.He wrote many immoral poems during the thirty years after he joined in the revolutionary work.In the last twelve years or so of his life.he wrote his three major poetical works,Paradise Lost,Paradise Regained and Samson Agonistes.
